The National Committee on Intellectual Property Rights decided to come up with a new logo to further strengthen its brand and promotions to the general public through a Logo Design Contest that will be open to the Filipino Youth.
Mechanics
- The contest is open to public youth ages 12-25 and residents of the Philippines. Employees, officers and relatives of employees and officers of the Intellectual Property Office (IPOPHL), Optical Media Board (OMB), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Book Development Board (NBDB) up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity are disqualified to join.
- Participants may submit one (1) entry only.
- Entries should be submitted in the following formats:
(1) JPEG, GIF, Adobe Illustrator compatible or Adobe Photoshop compatible, fit to vertical A4 size with minimum 300 dpi and
(2) in its original raw file
- The logo should not carry the name of the artist.
- The design of the logo should be in accordance with the National Committee on Intellectual Property Rights (NCIPR) official colors (white, red and blue). The logo design should be built around the theme, "Whole of Nation Approach in the Protection, Promotion and Enforcement of IP Rights".

- A brief description or rationale (not more than 100 words) explaining the components of the logo should also be included with submission of the entry. Participants are required to provide their name, contact number, affiliation, email address along with a copy of their valid identification (e.g. student ID, birth certificate, passport). One entry may have multiple participating creators.
- NCIPR reserves the right to disqualify entries with incomplete requirements and non-conformity to the format.
- The deadline of submission of entries is on June 10, 2022 at 11:59 AM.
- All entries must be sent with subject title “NCIPR Logo Entry_Name+Surname” via email to: ncipr.secretariat@ipophil.gov.ph and operations@ipophil.gov.ph
Rules and Regulations
- By joining the contest, the participants declare that the logo submitted is their original work, has not been submitted to any other competition, and does not infringe on any third party's existing copyrights. NCIPR shall not be liable in case of any complaint or dispute that may arise regarding the originality of the submitted work. Any entry duly found to have been substantially copied from, or bears a material resemblance or similarity to, a prior existing design shall automatically be disqualified.
- All the participants shall be duly acknowledged as the creators of their submitted works. The submission of each entry shall constitute only a single license for NCIPR to publicly display the work on its official social media page for purposes of gathering votes according to the judging criteria below. The participant who submitted the winning entry hereby agrees to wholly assign and transfer his/her copyright ownership over the said work to the NCIPR.
- The NCIPR will be allowed to modify the design of that entry according to its specific need/s.
PRIZES:
- Winning entry will receive the following prizes:
- a gift certificate worth PHP20,000;
- IPOPHL/NCIPR shirts and other giveaways; and
- free entrance to 5 selected IPOPHL initiated paid workshops and/or training
- All finalists will receive the IPOPHL/NCIPR shirts and free entrance to 1 selected IPOPHL initiated paid workshop and/or training.
The winning entry and artist/s or creator/s will be announced on June 30, 2022 by the members of the NCIPR Design Contest Committee and will be posted on its Facebook page. The winner will be notified by telephone call, email and text message.
Judging
- The logo-designing contest shall be judged according to the following criteria:
Concept / Relevance – 25%
- Relevant to NCIPR’s vision and values and it’s whole of nation approach in the Promotion, Protection and Enforcement of IP Rights
Originality and Innovativeness – 25%
- The logo should be original and should not have any resemblance to any existing logo or design. It should be unique.
Creativity and Impact – 40%
- It should have a good impact to the NCIPR members in terms of look, feel and characteristics and should creatively use the NCIPR colors of white, red and blue
Popularity – 10%
(Most number of likes on Facebook)
- For the popularity criteria, the NCIPR will post in its social media page the entries from June 15 - June 20, 2022. The entry with the greatest number of likes or heart reactions will receive the full 10% rating. A prorated rating will be given to other entries based on ranking in votes.
- The winning entry will be determined by the judges from OMB, NBDB, IPOPHL, and DTI. The NCIPR Chair or Vice Chair shall head the panel of judges. The decision of the judges is final.
*If the total submitted entries are more than seven (7) then a pre-screening committee will be formed coming from the same agencies but different individuals mentioned above to trim down the entries into seven (7) based on these following criteria:
Concept / Relevance – 30%
Originality and Innovativeness – 30%
Creativity and Impact – 40%
*If the total submitted entries are less than seven (7) then it will directly judged by the main judges as mentioned above and will be judged according to the original criteria set.
