UA&P, IPOPHL HOLD SEMINAR ON INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Industrial Design owners gathered on 26 October 2017 in Taguig City for the Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights: How to Prepare for an Integrated Market. Atty. Ferdinand Negre, IP Law Practitioner; Dr. George Manzano of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P); and Assistant Director Lolibeth Medrano of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) discussed the importance of industrial protection for businesses, operating in the ASEAN Economic Community, and provided updates on the regulation of design rights in the country. Participants were also asked to fill out a survey as part of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) study on industrial design in Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
