The Global State of the Creative Sector and Music Industry In Time of COVID-19 and Way Forward
The creative industry has been recognized as one of the drivers of the economy and has significantly contributed to the gross domestic product in any country. However, the on-going COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected this sector. In this light, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) through the initiative of the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights (BCRR) will conduct an online International Forum on 6 – 7 August 2020, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
The 2-day event will be a significant gathering of the local and international key players from the government agencies, leading industries in music, film, publishing, visual arts, broadcasting and tv, animation and gaming development, advertising, and the performing arts. It will serve as a platform to present the current landscape of the creative sector and the challenges being faced in this time of crisis. It will also be a venue to discuss how these creative industries can continuously contribute to economic growth despite the pandemic.
