Winners of IPOPHL Photo Contest 2018 Named

Employees of Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines showcased their creativity and artistic talents in the IPOPHL Photo Contest 2018, with 18 of the office’s employees - three of which took the top prizes - named winners of the office-wide photo competition.
18 winners bested 30 participants in the photo contest, part of the IPOPHL Human Resource Development Division’s ‘Quest for Innovation and Creativity’ program.
Themed on the IPOPHL’s Vision, Mission, Objective, and Values, the photo tilt aimed to channel the workforce’s talent in visual arts towards the function and value of their work in IPOPHL. The entries must depict ‘intellectual property in action’ - exhibiting the services of IPO, in connection with the theme.
These IPO services span patents, trademarks, legal services (enforcement and adjudication), copyright, and innovation and business development programs.
The criteria considered were conformity of the content and concept to the theme, creativity and originality, and quality of the photograph.
The period of submission of entries ran from March 19 to May 25, 2018,
Kathleen Joyce A. Ramos claimed the top spot, Janine Mae B. Zuñiga, taking second place, and James Gabriel M. Palomo, rounding out the third spot.
Fifteen consolation prizes were also handed out for other paticipants.
IPOPHL’s roster of judges include:
Joseph Noel A. Reyes, a photographer with 20 years of experience in the field. Mr. Reyes is also the owner of his own photography-based service company that provides photo and video-related services.
Robenson Ong Lo, vice president of operations for Super East Asia Enterprises, Inc (Camerahaus), a camera and optical goods retail chain with 25 branches nationwide.
Larry Monserate Piojo, a professional photographer with experience in a broad range of genres including documentary, travel, street, corporate, editorial, commercial, and portraiture. Mr. Piojo is also the local brand ambassador for PENTAX Philippines and RICOH Imaging, and an associate member of the Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines (PCP).
