Noteworthy to mention as one of audit commendations is the IPOPHL’s recent designation as an International Searching Authority/International Preliminary Examining Authority (ISA/IPEA) by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
On the occasion of IPOPHL’s 2017 Year-End General Assembly on 06 December 2017, IPOPHL Director General Josephine Santiago enjoined the IPOPHL management and staff to continue to embrace the culture of continual improvement and serve the public with utmost dedication and unwavering commitment to work excellence.
IPOPHL’s ISO Certification covers the Process of Registration of Patents, Utility Models, Industrial Designs and Registration of Trademarks.
ISO Certification is an accreditation conducted by external certification bodies to determine whether an organization meets the international standards in performing business processes. The new QMS standard (ISO 9001:2015) gives more emphasis on risk management and greater leadership involvement to ensure a more timely and responsive approach in addressing business risks and opportunities.
Executive Order 605 of 2007 directed all government agencies to adopt the ISO standards as part of the implementation of the government-wide quality management program. The IPOPHL is an ISO-certified government agency since it’s first audit in 2012.
