2nd High-Level Forum on IP Monetization Held
[16 November 2015| Taguig City, Philippines] For the second time, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) met with various government agencies to develop a policy framework for the valuation of intellectual property (IP) and its financing to assist in the commercialization of their intangible assets.
The second high-level forum on IP Valuation and Financing was held last 06 November at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Office in Makati City. This was a follow-up to the first meeting held in May. Representatives of banks, accounting firms and creative industry groups also attended the forum.
“We are overwhelmed by the support from our partners in the government and in the private sector.
All understood the importance of the policy framework that we are pushing. In some agencies, regulations and programs supporting our IP monetization policy already exist and it is just a matter of integrating them into one coherent national policy framework, said Atty. Allan Gepty, IPOPHL Deputy Director General.
He added that the government will continue to work with the industry in finalizing the details of the policy framework for IP Valuation and Financing for Philippine businesses.
